OpenAI reacts to Meta poaching top talent: ‘Someone has broken into our home…’

The Artificial Intelligence (AI) race is heating up as tensions rise between Meta and OpenAI over retaining top talent. The Mark Zuckerberg-led social media giant has poached many of the top research talent at the ChatGPT maker with lucrative offers and is still looking for more, if reports are to be believed.

According to a report by Wired, OpenAI’s Mark Chen has now responded to the challenge posed by Meta in a new memo that he sent to employees on Saturday.

“I feel a visceral feeling right now, as if someone has broken into our home and stolen something,” Chen wrote in his memo.

“Please trust that we haven’t been sitting idly by,” he added.

Notably, Zuckerberg has been aggressive with his new hiring approach for an AI team, offering even $100 million signing bonuses to some OpenAI employees—if comments made by Altman on his brother’s podcast are to be believed.

Moreover, the Meta chief executive has also been personally reaching out to potential recruits as he sets his sights on building a new AI ‘superintelligence’ team after the latest Llama models failed to gain traction compared to rivals.

Meta has reportedly been ramping up research recruiting with an eye on talent from OpenAI and Google. While Anthropic is also a major rival for the company in the AI race, it is thought to be less of a culture fit at Meta.

OpenAI’s response to Meta offers:

“Over the past month, Meta has been aggressively building out their new AI effort, and has repeatedly (and mostly unsuccessfully) tried to recruit some of our strongest talent with comp-focused packages,” Chen wrote in a message on Slack.

Chen noted that he has been working with Sam Altman and other leaders at the company “to talk to those with offers.”

“We’ve been more proactive than ever before, we’re recalibrating comp, and we’re scoping out creative ways to recognise and reward top talent,” he added.

The Wired report states that OpenAI staff have been grappling with an intense workload as many employees work 80 hours per week while the company focuses on buzzy announcements every few months. The AI startup is largely shutting down next week to give employees time to recharge, but it knows Meta might use this time to poach its top talent.

“Meta knows we’re taking this week to recharge and will take advantage of it to try and pressure you to make decisions fast and in isolation,” another OpenAI leader wrote, as per Chen’s memo.

Why these 7 energy and power stocks to see market attention on Monday (June 30, 2025)

Russian oil giant PJSC Rosneft Oil Company is in early talks with Reliance Industries for the sale of its 49.13 per cent stake in Nayara Energy, which operates a 20-million-tonnes-a-year oil refinery and 6,750 petrol pumps in India, sources said. Reliance has held preliminary talks for the acquisition of Nayara, which will help it overtake state-owned Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) to become India’s No.1 oil refiner as well as give a meaningful presence in the fuel marketing space. But the talks are at preliminary stage and there is no guarantee that they may lead to a definite deal as valuation remains a sticky ground, three sources with direct knowledge of the matter said.

Waaree Solar Americas, a wholly owned subsidiary of Waaree Energies Limited has received an order on June 27 for supply of 540MW solar modules from a renowned customer who is a developer and owner-operator of utility scale solar and energy storage projects across the United States. The order involves supply of 270MW solar modules in 2025 & 270MW solar modules in 2027-2028.

Anil Ambani’s Reliance Power Ltd is planning to set up a 1,500-MW gas-based power project overseas and is actively participating in several international tenders for its development, according to sources. Reliance Power has submitted competitive bids for gas-based power projects in Kuwait, UAE and Malaysia as part of its selective global expansion strategy. The company has recently secured two mega power projects in Bhutan — a 500-MW solar project and a 770-MW hydropower project.

Gujarat Industries Power Company Limited has successfully commissioned 105 MW out of 600 MW Solar Power Project, located within the 2,375 MW Renewable Energy Park at Khavda, Great Rann of Kutch.

NLC India Ltd has received a Letter of Award from NTPC Ltd for establishment of 450 MW Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) Connected Wind-Solar Hybrid Power project in Rajasthan, the company said. According to the order secured from NTPC Ltd, NLC India would set up the 450 ISTS connected wind-solar power project, supply of hybrid power generated from the said project to NTPC Ltd for a period of 25 years under the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).

State-owned power giant NTPC on Sunday said that its step down subsidiary NTPC Renewable Energy has fully commissioned 220-MW Shajapur Solar Project (Unit-II) after operationalising third and last part capacity of 120 MW. The NTPC Renewable Energy is an arm of NTPC Green Energy, which is a subsidiary of NTPC Ltd.

When K-drama met Bollywood – The Hindu BusinessLine

Casual footwear company Crocs served us a playful K-drama-Bollywood crossover that totally stole our heart. Tapping into pop culture from both countries and sprinkling loads of monsoon magic into it, the Croc ad features South Korean and Indian heartthrobs Chae Soobin and Siddhant Chaturvedi, with a cute ‘enemies to lovers’ storyline that fuses elements from both cultures wonderfully — the rain-drenched sequences with an umbrella, stolen glances and exchange of charms — with the Crocs a common point of connection. Yann Le Bozec, Head of Crocs International Marketing, said: “This campaign is a bold step in cultural storytelling, blending the rising influence of K-dramas with the timeless appeal of Bollywood through a pairing that’s unexpected yet perfectly in sync.” Conceptualised and produced by Kulfi Collective, the campaign is live across digital and social platforms in seven Asian markets. In India, Crocs introduces the monsoon-specific Jibbitz charms that are featured in the ad.

Calculating dreams

2025 marks a significant milestone for Casio as it celebrates 60 years since the debut of its first electronic desktop calculator. To commemorate the 60-year milestone, Casio India has rolled out a multi-touchpoint campaign, ‘The calculator India trusts’, across YouTube, Instagram and Facebook, as well as promotional collaterals in retail stores, especially across tier-2 and tier-3 towns, where brand trust plays a critical role in purchase decisions. Rooted in the belief that every calculation shapes the future, the campaign pays tribute to the countless moments that Casio calculators have supported Indians across classrooms, businesses and homes. In the emotionally charged film, created by Backlot Films and featuring a retailer, a student and a working woman using the calculator, the Casio device is portrayed as a symbol of perseverance, ambition and everyday triumphs.

Not straight

To mark Pride month, Bengaluru-based D2C home décor brand Sleepyhead has done a few unusual things. For starters, the brand, which is declaring ‘Straight isn’t the default’, has tilted its entire website experience — literally. Every element, from product images to navigation, will appear slightly askew, embracing the idea that life (and comfort) isn’t meant to be lived in straight lines. It has also launched a limited edition Sleepyhead Pride Sofa — a piece of furniture built for those who live unapologetically, love loudly and express without filter — even as it is celebrating the curved, the cozy, the colourful and the gloriously non-linear.

Extending the campaign beyond digital, Sleepyhead is also making a bold statement on the streets with a striking out-of-home (OOH) campaign. The Pride Sofa will be showcased through immersive bus shelter installations across key locations in Bengaluru — Koramangala, Marathahalli and Banaswadi.

Getting inclusive

Biscuit companies Britannia and Parle decided to showcase their inclusivity this Pride Month. Britannia’s Good Day brand set the ball rolling with a print ad titled Flavours of Equality — featuring a Good Day pack flaunting all the colours of the rainbow — and with one empty slot. It invited rival Parle Monaco to co-create a multi-biscuit ‘Pride’ pack. Parle did not crumble but made a crunchy comeback on Instagram with a similar biscuit pack arrangement featuring not just Monaco but also Hide&Seek, Krackjack and so on, with the message “Happy to help you with this initiative. We at Parle have been proudly serving India’s diversity not just for one month, but every month, every day.”

In-a-jiffy delivery

Myntra’s latest campaign for M-Now, its expedited delivery offering for fashion and beauty fixes, rides on humour. Conceptualised by DDB Mudra, the two ad films feature actor Vihaan Samat, actor and comedian Sumukhi Suresh, and influencers Sakshi Shivdasani and Ayesha Kanga. Set against everyday, yet extraordinary backdrops, the campaign unfolds through a sharply humorous narrative where chaos, urgency and style collide. Set in a courtroom, Vihaan and Sumukhi are called in as key witnesses, but the situation takes a comic turn when they show up in pyjamas and furry slippers. With moments to spare before stepping into the spotlight, they quickly turn to M-Now to pull off a stylish transformation. The second film sees Sakshi and Ayesha facing a beauty emergency before their mugshots at a police station. Panicking, they urgently turn to M-Now for beauty essentials like lipstick, mascara and eyeliner.

Live the footloose life

Mobile phone brand Oppo’s latest campaign stars Ranbir Kapoor and cleverly uses his star legacy by getting him to imagine the iconic “Aawara Hoon” spirit of his grandfather. The film opens in a black-and-white setting, evoking an old-world charm. Ranbir steps into the frame in a classic Aawara-inspired look, as the scene shifts from monochrome to colour. Shifting into an interview format, Ranbir gives his take on the ‘Aawara Life’ and how the Reno14 Series brings those experiences to life.

Found Oyster’s Scallop Tostadas with Yuzu-Apple Vinaigrette Recipe

In this perfect party appetizer, the sweet funk of scallops is complemented by the savoriness of the corn tostada and the sour, spicy punch from the yuzu-apple vinaigrette. I love the texture of this dish — the dressing just barely saturates the tostada as you pour it over, and you bite into varying levels of softness and crunch at once.

Note: Don’t throw away any cilantro stems. They are super flavorful and have an awesome crunch. They go treat minced as a garnish on this tostada or folded into a salad dressing or even a mignonette.

Woman refuses to cancel Europe trip for boyfriend’s ‘dying’ mother and internet has her back

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

A personal drama has gone viral online as a young woman reached out to others for help in navigating her sticky travel situation.

After a great deal of back and forth, she said she’s now “refusing to help my boyfriend’s dying mother while planning a trip to Europe” — and wondered what others thought.

Fox News Digital reached out to a clinical psychologist for insight as people on Reddit weighed in on the drama.

WOMAN GOES VIRAL ON REDDIT FOR CALLING OUT HUSBAND’S LAST-MINUTE PARTY DEMANDS

Describing herself as 25 years old, the woman said she lives with her boyfriend — and about a month ago, his mom “began claiming she’s dying of cancer, but no diagnosis has been confirmed. Every hospital visit ends with her being sent home. A nurse even [said] she might be faking,” the woman wrote.

The mother asked to “stay one night” at the couple’s small apartment, which “turned into a week of chaos,” said the young woman.

A woman writing on Reddit said she’s “refusing to help my boyfriend’s dying mother while planning a trip to Europe” — and she asked others for their honest opinions of her difficult situation. (iStock)

“The apartment smelled awful, everything had to be dark and silent, and she constantly demanded help,” the woman wrote.

Then the mother “suggested we move in with her, an hour from our jobs/school.”

The young woman said she’s a full-time student currently holding two jobs, and she began “falling behind.”

Her boyfriend changed his full-time job to a fully remote position so he could care for his mother, the young woman added.

The health updates “were always shifting,” however, she said. “MRI, canceled surgery, then chemo postponed due to infection, then E. coli. Always a new reason. No clear diagnosis or paperwork,” she continued.

The young woman then described a scenario in which “we were supposed to take her to the ER … but we ended up staying 16 hours [at the mother’s home] doing chores. I folded 420 clothing items, cleaned the whole house, and felt like her unpaid maid. Not a single please or thank you.”

Packed luggage

A young woman on Reddit described the work she’s been doing for her boyfriend’s mother, who is apparently ill — and now the young woman is questioning the entire situation as she plans a trip to Europe.  (iStock)

She went on, “She was stalling to go to the ER, and when we finally got there at 5 a.m., she said she’d check herself in and sent us home. Three hours later, she called again, sobbing for help. She had been rejected by the ER.”

Wrote the woman, “I suspect she faked it.”

The young woman said she and her boyfriend had been “skipping meals, losing sleep and falling behind at work to help her.”

“If it were your mom, would you help her?”

To further complicate things, the mother’s boyfriend, an apparent alcoholic, began sending the young couple “aggressive texts” — then “later apologized,” according to the thread.

The mother then “called again begging for help. But this time, she wanted me … I needed that weekend to study for final exams. And going to that house alone seemed sketchy.”

The young woman said she’s now planning a “Europe trip to see my mom, whom I haven’t seen in over a year.”

Summer travel plans

A woman wondered if she was wrong for “going home to Europe” to see her own mother while her boyfriend’s mother suffers from an array of problems.  (iStock)

While the boyfriend said he supports her trip of several weeks, he also told her she was being “a little selfish,” the woman wrote.

The boyfriend apparently asked her, “If I were dying, would you quit your job to be with me?” and “If it were your mom, would you help her?”

The woman said she “felt pressured to say yes. But truth is, my family wouldn’t lie to me or use me like this.”

The woman concluded that she “loves” her boyfriend and wants “to be there for him. But I don’t trust his mom, and this is starting to affect our relationship.”

She then wondered if she was wrong for “going home to Europe.”

Some 5,000 people have reacted to the personal situation to date — with the vast majority siding with the stressed young woman.

“Why is his family more important than yours?”

Wrote a top commenter, “I know you love your boyfriend, but you need to ask yourself if you’re willing to give up your own life for him and his mom, because it’s never going to stop. It could stop if he chooses to set boundaries, but it doesn’t sound like he’ll do that.”

Wrote another person, “Break up. Move out. Go on vacation. Stop dealing with crazy mom and [boyfriend].”

Said yet another individual, “Why is his family more important than yours? I would tell him that he should move her to assisted living or an apartment and hire help. Let him know that while you love him, you are not lighting your future on fire to help someone who won’t help themselves.”

And yet another person wrote, “Stay in Europe would be my advice. Sounds exhausting.”

Said another commenter, “Run! Escape!”

23 Best Power Banks (2025), Tested and Reviewed

Other Portable Chargers We Tested

Photograph: Simon Hill

There are so many portable chargers out there. Here are a few more we like that just missed out on a place above for one reason or another.

OnePlus Slim Magnetic Power Bank for $70: Sleek in silver grey aluminum with a chamfered edge, this power bank looks lovely and is very slim, measuring 3.77 x 2.71 x 0.34 inches, not to mention lightweight at just 120 grams. But the 5,000-mAh capacity is just over half that after inefficiency takes a bite. Wireless charging tops out at 10 watts for Android and 7.5 watts for iPhone (even wired charging is limited to 10 watts). You can snag better performers for less.

Denvix PowerX Power Bank for $180: This beefy 25,000 mAh power bank can put out up to 200 watts via two USB-C ports, one USB-A, and a Qi wireless charging pad, to charge four devices simultaneously, maybe a laptop, a couple of phones, and some earbuds. The display shows power remaining, watts in or out, temperature, and a few other stats. It’s a solid option if you want something that can charge laptops, but the finish is a little too smooth, and it gets very warm when charging multiple devices.

Photograph: Simon Hill

Sharge Flow Mini for $13: With a similar design to Anker’s Nano Power Bank above and the same 5,000-mAh capacity, you might be tempted to go for this instead. It comes with interchangeable USB-C to USB-C or Lightning connectors (which I worry will be easy to lose) and has a built-in USB-C cable that doubles as a strap, though it’s tricky to pull out. There’s a power button with four LEDs to show the remaining power, and it only takes an hour and a half to refill, but the charging rate maxes out at 12 watts either way.

Cuktech 10 Power Bank for $40: With impressive build quality, including a nice grippy material on the underside and a handy display showing power output and input, this Cuktech (pronounced chook-tek) power bank almost earned a place above. Despite the modest capacity, it is built for speed and capable of outputting 100 watts, with support for PD 3.0 and PPS. It can also recharge in less than an hour (up to 90 W). The trade-off for the high speed is low efficiency. You won’t get anywhere near the 10,000-mAh capacity advertised, but this is true of most power banks. I also tested the higher-capacity Cuktech 15 Ultra ($90), which boasts double the power, can charge two or three devices simultaneously at up to 165 watts, and supports many fast-charging protocols including PPS, QC, PD3.1, FCP, SCP, and MiPPS.

Baseus Blade 2 for $80: With an extremely thin design, this 12,000-mAh-capacity power bank is easy to slip into a backpack and can charge most phones a couple of times or top up a laptop at up to 65 watts. It has a display showing battery life as a percentage of time remaining and the input or output for both USB-C ports. We’ve tried many products from up and down the Baseus product line. While they are generally reliable, we do think there are better options.

Photograph: RUGD

Rugd Power Brick for $50: This shock- and water-resistant (IP67 certified) charger doubles as a bright 16-LED with an SOS mode, and has a hefty 10,050-mAh capacity (one USB-C at 18 W and a USB-A that supports QC). It’s also bright orange, weighs just 280 grams, and comes with a carabiner for easy attachment, all of which make it an excellent camping buddy.

FansDreams MChaos for $46: I love the idea of a wearable power bank, and this one comes in lime green with a carabiner that makes it easy to attach to a bag. It also has a built-in, retractable, 28-inch USB-C cable to charge your phone at up to 20 watts. Recharging the power bank is a little slower at 18 watts. The colored LED gives you a sense of remaining juice as it goes from green to orange to red, but the 5,000-mAh capacity means you’ll be lucky to get one full charge for your phone, and even the discounted price feels a little high. I also tested the 10,000-mAh model ($50), which has a nicer design. Pull the 2.3-foot retractable USB-C cable out and the percentage remaining pops up visible through the shiny plastic of the case. There’s a USB-C port on the bottom for charging, and it goes up to 22.5 watts either way.

Infinacore Pandora Portable Power Global Wireless Charger for $50: This was our pick for the best wall-charger power bank, and it is still a decent charger that plugs directly into the wall. It has the advantage of optional EU and UK plug adapters for an extra $10, making it a handy travel companion. It offers 8,000 mAh via one USB-C port, two USB-A ports (18 W total), and Qi wireless charging (5 W).

Iniu Power Bank BaI-B64 for $72: Offering relatively low prices, Iniu is a power bank brand on the rise. This portable charger packs a 27,000-mAh capacity, can put out up to 140 W, and charges three devices at once via two USB-C ports and a single USB-A port. We also tested the very similar BI-B63 ($54), which has a slightly lower capacity at 25,000 mAh but seems like a better value. Unfortunately, both fell slightly short of the stated capacity when tested. We also like the color options available in the company’s slimmest version.

Photograph: Anker

Anker Prime Power Bank for $110: With a total combined output of 200 W and a hefty 20,000-mAh capacity, this is a solid choice for charging any device; you could even use it to charge two laptops at once via the two USB-C ports. There is a USB-A port, too, and a digital screen. You can also buy a Power Base ($110) for this, which enables you to stick the power bank on top and charge it via Pogo Pins. The base makes it easy to keep the power bank topped up and is handy for desktop charging with two USB-C ports and one USB-A port (combined max output 100 W). I tried the UK version (£75), which worked great, but WIRED reviews editor Julian Chokkattu had issues with the US base failing to charge the power bank.

Anker Nano Power Bank 10,000 for $40: Another solid option from Anker (also available for £30 from Amazon UK), this power bank has a built-in USB-C cable that doubles as a loop for easy carrying and a further one USB-C and one USB-A port. It has a 10,000-mAh capacity, good for just shy of two full charges for most phones. It maxes out at 30 watts each way and can be fully charged in around two hours.

Mpowered Luci Pro Lux for $50: This solar-powered inflatable lantern boasts 10 LEDs and emits a lovely warm glow that’s perfect for camping or walking at night. It is IP67-rated and packs down flat for easy carrying. While it’s not primarily a power bank, the 2,000-mAh battery in the Luci Pro can charge your phone in an emergency. A nearly full Luci Pro boosted my Pixel 6 Pro by around 25 percent. It takes at least 14 hours to charge back up using the solar panels, or you can plug into an outlet and recharge in three.

Mophie Powerstation, Powerstation XL, and Powerstation Pro AC for $28+: Mophie’s 2023 update to its Powerstation line has three devices in 10,000-, 20,000-, and 27,000-mAh capacities. They’re bulky, nondescript devices with USB-C and USB-A ports, but the latter has an AC port and is great for travel. WIRED reviews editor Julian Chokkattu used the XL during his trip to Japan and had no trouble keeping his Switch Lite and Pixel 7 Pro topped up. There are LEDs to indicate remaining battery life, but there’s otherwise nothing special about ’em.

iWalk Portable Charger for $27: WIRED reviews editor Julian Chokkattu used the Lightning version of this power bank while covering the Apple event, and it reliably topped up his iPhone. The 4,800-mAh capacity won’t fully refill your device, but it’s tiny enough to keep in a bag at all times. There’s an LED that shows the remaining percentage of power left.

Power up with unlimited access to WIRED. Get best-in-class reporting that’s too important to ignore for just $2.50 $1 per month for 1 year. Includes unlimited digital access and exclusive subscriber-only content. Subscribe Today.

Ponavljanja: 12-15 u 3 serije.
Savjet: Držite leđa ravno i aktivirajte mišiće trupa.

Mrtvo dizanje

Plank

Ponavljanja: 10-15 u 2-3 serije.
Savjet: Pokret neka bude kontroliran; fokusirajte se na aktivaciju leđa, a ne na brzinu.

Ove vježbe možete kombinirati u jednostavan kružni trening 2-3 puta tjedno. Njihova učinkovitost leži u jednostavnosti, angažmanu velikih mišićnih skupina i mogućnosti progresije. Redovitom primjenom poboljšat ćete snagu, izdržljivost i oblikovati cijelo tijelo, bez potrebe za odlaskom u teretanu. Za više ideja posjetite Index Vježbe.
