PM Narendra Modi’s Heartfelt Gesture

The ‘Men in Blue’ received a warm welcome at the Indira Gandhi International Airport where the players firstly went to the ITC Maurya hotel to get ready for their meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence. Why Did PM Narendra Modi Didn’t Hold T20 World Cup Trophy in his Hands?

The Indian squad along with captain Rohit Sharma, head coach Rahul Dravid, BCCI secretary Jay Shah and President Roger Binny clicked with Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with the T20 World Cup trophy. However, PM Modi showcased a heartfelt gesture where he could be seen refusing from taking the trophy in his hands and handed it over to Dravid and Rohit. Modi’s gesture won hearts on the social media. As an unspoken rule, trophies or medals won by teams or individuals are only to be touched by those whose teams or sportsmen earned them. Jay Shah and Roger Binny gifted PM Modi a special ‘NAMO’ jersey after the meet.
